SOMETHING ABOUT ME

My name is Chip Mundy (I'm the guy in the photo above on the right attending the 2006 World Series in St. Louis with a friend, Bob Katz, left).

I was born in 1955 (you figure out how old I am), and I have lived in Jackson, Michigan, all of my life.

I am a sports writer for the Jackson Citizen Patriot and have been in sports journalism for more than 25 years.

I've always been as interested in sports history as I have been of current sports, so it was a natural to collect games, documentaries, highlight films, etc. It has always seemed to me that this was the "hidden gem" in sports collecting. Why pay for a piece of cardboard with a photo of a baseball player on it when you can actually watch him perform on video?

Anyway, this web site is to inform those interested of what I have in my collection. I am willing to trade, but I also must warn those serious collectors that when I started doing this, I never intended to trade. (I never dreamt anyone else would do this). So, a large majority of what I have was recorded in SLP mode.

I began recording on DVDs in 2004.

For those just browsing, have fun.

Also, if you're interested to read some of my most recent sports columns in the Jackson Citizen Patriot, go to http://www.mlive.com/sports/jacitpat/chip_mundy/ or you can visit my blog on the Detroit Tigers at http://blog.mlive.com/curveballs/

I have lived in Jackson, Michigan, all of my live. I am a 1973 graduate of Parkside High School and have worked for the Jackson Citizen Patriot since 1981, except for a 3-year stretch in the mid 1980s when I worked for the Albion Recorder.
